Cơn mưa nhớ nhà
Thái Tú Hạp
cơn mưa chợt thức hồn ta dậy
đôi nhánh tay gầy phố lạnh xưa
con nước mùa đông sầu thảm đó
phủ kín đời em trong tiếng mưa
cơn mưa có phải là hơi thở
thổi mấy tầng mây gió cuốn theo
cho ta thấy lại dòng sông trắng
thấy lại đời trôi giạt mấy bờ
có phải chiều nay ray rứt nhớ
gió thổi vừng trăng trong mắt em
cơn lụt như chiều ta tiễn biệt
chỉ một lần thôi, đá lệ mềm
lâu quá thơ ta như ruộng khô
cơn mưa chợt thức hồn ta dậy
những hạt mầm xanh bỗng nở hoa
trong tim ẩn mật bao ngày tháng
phố cũ trời ơi! đôi mái nhớ
rêu phong quạnh vắng bước chân về
tiếng chuông thầm lặng, sầu nghiêng xuống
cành lá đìu hiu với xương khô
sông nước theo mùa đông lũ lụt
quê nghèo xơ xác tiếng đau thương
trăm năm cánh én bay đi mất
bỏ lại tình em như khói sương
ta về theo với cơn mưa lũ
con đường nở trắng hoa ngâu thương
có phải mẹ nhìn ta thuở bé
có phải em nhìn ta vấn vương
tiếng mưa xé nát hồn viễn khách
em hát giùm ta khúc nhạc sầu
cho ta khua hết trong tiềm thức
hàng vạn chiều mưa phủ đớn đau
mưa ở quê nhà mưa núi thẳm
mưa rừng sâu nghiệt ngã tai ương
mưa hải đảo kiếp đời lưu lạc
mưa nhạt nhòa biệt tích cố hương!
đêm chìm khuất lời kinh cầu nguyện
thắp cho nhau chút nắng đầu non
mưa lấp lánh hoa vàng luống cải
xuân lại về một dạ sắt son...
Nostalgia in a shower of rain
English version by NGUYEN HUU LY
The shower of rain suddenly awakens our soul
The stretch of a pair scraggy arms in the olden chilly town
The tide in that mournful winter
Shuts tight your existence in rainy sounds
Is it true that the shower of rain a breath
To blow several stratum of clouds with whirling winds
To let us see again the white current river
In our drifting life on many shores and ports
Is it right that we feel regret about this remembering evening
The wind is blowing the moon orb in your eyes
The flood seems like an eventide we say good-bye
Once only, stone in tears becomes soft
Our poems look like arid land for ages
The shower of rain suddenly awakens our soul
Tender buds are unexpectedly in bloom
Secret feelings are lurking in our heart so many
long days and months
Good Heavens! The olden town with its roofed couples
in remembrance
Its mossy-green and deserted view upon our
returning steps
Bell ringing remain mute, melancholy falls into
a decline
Bony branches are denuded of desolate foliage
River current is running along the flooding season
Our poor native land suffers agonizing screams
Swallows fly away forever
And give up our darling’s sentiments that like fog
and smoke
We bring diluvial rains along in our return
Lovely white aglaia flowers are blossoming along
the road
Is it true that Mother looks after us in our infancy
Is it right that you stare at us with involved emotion
Rainy sounds tear up the traveler’s soul from afar
in pieces
You help us sing a piece of sad song
To stir everything in our subconscience
From ten-thousands of suffering rainy evenings
Rain in our homeland looks like rain in very
deep mountains
Rain in very dark forests which brings wickedly
about great disaster
Rain in sea-island which shapes the wandering destiny
Rain was just a blur when we were deported far-away
from our native land!
Evenings sunk deep in prayers
To illuminate together a little bit of the mountain-end
sunshine
A glittering season abounds in yellowing flowers
of vegetable beds
Spring is coming again with our constant mind...
