Công chúa và mùa xuân
Hay tâm sự của Huyền Trân Công Chúa (1287-1340)
Việt Nam phải đi làm vợ vua Chàm Chế Mân.
TRẦN MỘNG TÚ
Nước non ngàn dặm ra đi
Cái tình chi!
Mượn màu son phấn
Đền nợ Ô Ly
Xót thay vì
Đương độ xuân thì
Độ xuân thì
Số long đong, hay là duyên nợ gì?
Má hồng da tuyết
Quyết liều như hoa tàn, trăng khuyết
Vàng lộn theo chì
Khúc ly ca
Sẽ còn mường tượng nghe gì?
Thấy chim hồng nhạn bay đi
Tình lai láng
Hướng dương hoa Quỳ
Dặn một lời Mân Quân:
Như chuyện mà như nguyện
Đặng vài phân
Vì lợi cho dân
Tình đem lại mà cân
Đắng cay trăm phần...

A Princess and her spring
Or confidences of the Vietnamese Princess
Huyen Tran (1287-1340) who was married
to the Champa’s King Che Man
English version by NGUYỄN HỮU LÝ
From her home-country, she had to take her thousand-mile-faraway(wedding) trip.
What’s that kind of love?
It’s only the trade of her elegance and beauty
For paying off the debt of O Ly.
It’s so pitiful
for her spring youth!
Her really pitiful spring youth!
It’s her unfortunate fate, not her predestined union at all
Rosy cheeks and snow-white complexion
Were definitely risked, instead of crumbling flowers and crescent moon
Gold mixed with lead
There was a farewell song
How was it imaginable that the song would have been normally listened to, then!
Looking at red swallows flying away
She felt lots of expensive emotions
Meanwhile, she remained firmly oriented as a sunflower
Here’s a strong recommendation word to the King Che Man
The whole story (of promise) was completely carried out as ever wished
It’s an important part
of the people’s advantageous benefits
Her love, once weighted in comparison with her sacrifices,
was, in fact, her immeasurable sufferings.
