Please forget me, my dear!
English version by NGUYEN HUU LY
There is nothing more to be left on the rows
of vacant seats
When the stage-manager gives up
His unfinished play of life
Nothing is strange to you
Traces of the crumbling river with its two sandy banks
That was swept away after the flooding season
I'm a more bird wing flitting over the sky
Once only, without tidings
Life ignores completely either my arrival
Or my leaving
Nobody still knows well lakes and seas falling
into oblivion
Only specks of dust remain under my seat
The familiar empty space
Has agitated deplorably day after day
Please forget me, my dear!
As to forget honey - bearing and rather bitter days
As to forget afternoons
In the pale library
Wild and melancholic ancient script lines
Historical pages which were stained with blood
Please forget me, my dear!
As to forget the morning
In the middle of a crowded city
Steadfast footsteps next to the desert brick-doorstep
The homeland is cruelly full of sufferings
The well water has melted away its limpid smiling
As spontaneous as the prairie grass and
the field fragrance
That looks like a gravel in the park of love
Where you have ever passed through happily
Please forget me!
On the stage of an uninteresting existence
All illusions have withered the short life
The days I ran adrift and drowned my love
The nights which have harmed all pleasant thoughts
just in bloom
The evening twilight that has broken off all flames
at the early dawn
I promise to be back to my native land
To comfort a bird life in the morrow
To carry in the break a blade of hay to the warm roof
To listen to the spring forest transmitting
the new sunshine through the heart
